Below we have listed activity details based on the current Covid-19 guidance for Scotland. We regularly review our services and facility access to ensure everyone’s visit is safe, clean, friendly and fun. 

Always remember ‘hands, face, space’ when you visit. Masks are still mandatory (unless medically exempt) when in public spaces in Scotland. We have updated our face mask policy, inline with Scottish Government Legislation. If you forget a mask, you can purchase one at reception for £1.

We do track non-compliance and repeat offenders may lose facility access.

What are your current opening times?

Oriam is currently open to the public, members and performance sports. Our current opening hours for the festive period are as follows:

MON 27th – THURS 30th | 08:00 – 20:00
FRI 31st| 08:00 – 16:00

SAT & SUN 1st & 2nd JAN 2022| CLOSED

MON 3rd JAN| 08:00 – 20:00
TUES 4th JAN| Return to standard hours

Our standard opening hours are:
MON – FRI | 06:30 -22:00
SATURDAY| 08:00 – 20:00
SUNDAY| 08:00 – 22:00

Will I need to wear a face mask when I visit?

The mask mandate is still in place for indoor public spaces in Scotland. We ask all visitors who can do so, to please wear a mask in the Reception area and in corridors when moving between activity areas. There are also sanitizing stations at each entry point and activity area.  

If you forget a mask, you can purchase one for £1 at reception.

What should I bring with me?

We ask members to only bring the essentials into the building.

  • Dress ready for your activity before arrival. Changing rooms access will be limited.
  • A face mask.
  • Oriam Members card. You will need this for access to the fitness suite and car park.
  • A water bottle. Stay hydrated during your activity, water fountains now available for re-fills. 
  • Your own equipment for an activity. Rackets, Yoga mats and resistance bands for example. 

Can I use the changing rooms or showers when I visit?

  • Changing Rooms 3 & 4, opposite the fitness suite, are open for locker access and changing facilities. Maximum 4 person capacity
  • The shower areas in changing room 3 & 4 are now open. Maximum 2 person Capacity.
  • We encourage members to change at home and arrive ready to workout.

Oriam Complaint Procedure


We are following the Sports Scotland guidance on re-introduction of our sport and fitness activities.

  • Indoor non-contact sports & Fitness activities are permitted for all age groups. We ask all visitors to maintain social distancing and wear a mask when not in an activity. Please clean hands and equipment before and after use. 
  • Outdoor contact sports are permitted with reasonable precautions in place and no more than 500 spectators.
  • Indoor adult contact sports are not currently permitted. 

Gym & Fitness

Our Fitness suite re-opened to members on the 26th April 2021. 
– Booking is essential
– Sessions last up to 90 minutes
– Maximum capacity 40 members per session
– All equipment is spaced for 1 meter social distancing.
– Cleaning stations & schedule is in place
– Group inductions and 1-1 Personal training temporarily suspended. Planned return for January 2022.

Group Exercise Classes

Our Group Exercise Classes are now back in our studios with social distancing and cleaning measures in place. You can check out our current timetable here and you can book classes via our Members Area or Oriam App.

Casual Sports

Badminton, Squash, Basketball & Table Tennis.
Availability for casual court sports sessions has been gradually re-introduced, we are currently following Sports Scotland guidance for Level 0:
– Booking is essential
– Players should bring own equipment (racquets & balls etc)
– Casual sessions for badminton, basketball, squash and table tennis now available for mixed households.

Team Sports & Training

Throughout lockdown Oriam continued to host professional sport training with all precautions in place. We have gradually re-opened availability since April and now we can welcome back more teams for indoor & outdoor contact sport, in line with Level 0 guidance. Which activities are currently available?

 All activities must be pre-booked, including Fitness sessions. We will update everyone as anything changes. We will follow the guidance from each governing body on set-up, equipment and numbers. 

Current available activities are:

  • Fitness sessions
  • Group Exercise classes (online only)
  • Squash (own equipment, solo practice or same household)
  • Badminton (own equipment, solo or single household)

How Do I book an activity?

If you are a current member you are welcome to book an activity online, via our new app or by phone. Our new Oriam App is a convenient way to manage all of your activities on the go. To login to the app or online you will need your email address and password. If you have any difficulties logging-in please try the ‘forgotten password’ link or you can call or email reception for assistance during opening hours.

Please remember to cancel your booking if for any reason you are unable to attend. This may give another member the opportunity to go to an activity and we will be using our booking system as part of our track & trace protocols so attendance will be closely monitored. 

Which Group Exercise classes are available?

All Group Exercise have been moved to online only for the coming weeks. A new timetable can be found here

What is available in the fitness suite?

Our main fitness suite has been adapted to keep everyone safe and happy during a workout. 

  • full range of equipment available. New layout for social distancing.
  • Pre-booking essential
  • Sessions set to 60 or 80 minute bookings. No extensions for late arrivals.
  • Maximum capacity: 40 members per hour. 
  • Allocated time for deep cleaning between bookings.
  • One way system in place.
  • Additional cleaning stations available for member use.

What about group or team sports?

We are working closely with sportscotland to implement group sport at Oriam and will update our guidance as soon as possible. We will be in contact with any groups due to train at Oriam in the coming weeks.

When will my membership restart?

All memberships were suspended for the duration of the current lockdown. 
We re-started memberships from our re-opening day on 26th April 2021.

What if I am not ready to return to Oriam?

We completely understand! Not everyone is going to feel they are ready to return to the facilities. Oriam is still here for you, we will continue to post a variety of health and fitness tips online to try at home and our team are here to answer any questions you might have. You can contact if you have any questions about your current membership. 

I am not a current member how do I join up?

Interested in joining us? We are open to new members now. Check out our memberships page for more information or you can contact our membership team to book an appointment.

We are open to non-member visitors too, with pay-as-you-go charges for each activity. Every visitor must register attendance to complete track and trace and make payment before starting the session.


What are the Bistro opening hours?

The Bistro is currently closed however our catering team are offering a takeaway service available from the Tuk-tuk at the main entrance. There will be seating areas available outside and inside where government restrictions on numbers of people and households will apply.

Do i need to track & trace at the Bistro?

When the Bistro re-opens. Yes, we will ask all visitors to the Bistro to complete the track & trace form on arrival.

We also ask all visitors to now follow the ‘rule of 6’ and limit their group to a maximum of 6 people from up to 2 households.

What is on the menu at the Bistro?

  • Teas, coffees and light snacks.
  • Breakfast Rolls, soup, sandwiches and more. 
  • Bistro Tuk-tuk – Temporarily closed until 3rd January.

  • Indoor Contact Sports – From 26th December for minimum 3 weeks. No indoor contact sports permitted.
    Solo practice or single-household play only for Squash, Basketball, Netball and Volleyball.
