GENERAL

What are your current opening times?

Oriam is currently open to the public, members and performance sports.

Our standard opening hours are:
MON – FRI | 06:30 -22:00
SATURDAY| 08:00 – 20:00
SUNDAY| 08:00 – 22:00

Do non-members need to pay to play if playing with a member?

Yes. All Non-Members must check in at the desk and pay the guest sport fee regardless of if they are playing with a member.

What should I bring with me?

Specific activity requirements may differ but here are a few of our recommended essentials:

  • Comfortable Sports Clothing and trainers
  • Refillable water bottle – we have water stations throughout the building
  • A padlock for our lockers
  • A small gym towel

Can I use the changing rooms or showers when I visit?

Yes. We have two sets of changing rooms on the ‘street’ opposite Sports Hall One and our Fitness Suite, all with showers and changing facility. We also have a private accessible shower & changing room and baby change facilities available.

Please note that our lockers do require you to bring your own padlock in order to use them.

How do I leave feedback about my visit?

Our team are doing their upmost to make sure everyone’s visit is safe, clean, friendly and fun. If you have any feedback on your visit please let us know. You can email hello@oriam.hw.ac.uk or use our feedback form.

ACTIVITIES

Here at Oriam we provide the facilities for athletes and the wider community to be active and have fun while playing sports. We hope any queries you have about our activities will be answered below.

Gym & Fitness

When using our fitness suite, to enter you must have a membership card, Student ID, or a guest pass that can be printed out at reception.

  • Our Fitness Suite does maintain fully stocked cleaning stations & has a cleaning schedule in place to provide a clean, hygienic space for all users.
  • To help our staff out we do encourage all users of our Fitness Suite to wipe down equipment before and after use.
  • Group inductions and 1-1 Personal Training can be booked at our reception desk

Group Exercise Classes

Our Group Exercise Classes are now back in our studios. You can check out our current timetable here and you can book classes via our Members Area or Oriam App.

Casual Sports

  • Badminton, Squash, Basketball & Table Tennis.
    Availability for casual court sports sessions can be viewed on the Our Oriam App and enquired about at our reception desk.
  • Booking is essential
  • Non-members must pay at the same time as making their booking. (Payments will be cashless after August 1st)
  • Equipment (racquets & balls etc) can be hired at reception for a small fee

Which activities are currently available?

 All activities must be pre-booked, including Fitness sessions. We will update everyone as anything changes. We will follow the guidance from each governing body on set-up, equipment and numbers. 

Current available activities are:

  • Fitness sessions
  • Group Exercise classes (online only)
  • Squash (own equipment, solo practice or same household)
  • Badminton (own equipment, solo or single household)

How Do I book an activity?

If you are a current member you are welcome to book an activity online, via our new app or by phone. Our new Oriam App is a convenient way to manage all of your activities on the go. To login to the app or online you will need your email address and password. If you have any difficulties logging-in please try the ‘forgotten password’ link or you can call or email reception for assistance during opening hours.

Please remember to cancel your booking if for any reason you are unable to attend. This may give another member the opportunity to go to an activity and we will be using our booking system as part of our track & trace protocols so attendance will be closely monitored. 

Which Group Exercise classes are available?

All Group Exercise have been moved to online only for the coming weeks. A new timetable can be found here

What is available in the fitness suite?

Our main fitness suite has been adapted to keep everyone safe and happy during a workout. 

  • full range of equipment available. New layout for social distancing.
  • Pre-booking essential
  • Sessions set to 60 or 80 minute bookings. No extensions for late arrivals.
  • Maximum capacity: 40 members per hour. 
  • Allocated time for deep cleaning between bookings.
  • One way system in place.
  • Additional cleaning stations available for member use.

What about group or team sports?

We are working closely with sportscotland to implement group sport at Oriam and will update our guidance as soon as possible. We will be in contact with any groups due to train at Oriam in the coming weeks.

MEMBERSHIP

Where can I find out about Memberships?

All our memberships are detailed on our Memberships Options page and these can be purchased online through the Our Oriam app or at our reception desk, where our team will be more than happy to help.

I am not a current member how do I join up?

Interested in joining us? We are open to new members now. Check out our memberships page for more information or you can contact our membership team to book an appointment. membership@oriam.hw.ac.uk

We are open to non-member visitors too, with pay-as-you-go charges for each activity. 

BISTRO

What are the Bistro opening hours?

The Bistro area has now been converted to a bookable team dining / meeting space that can be booked through our conference page.

The Bistro now operates from our TukTuk located at the reception desk where you can grab a range of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and wraps, and a variety of cakes and snacks.

Opening Hours:

  • Mon-Fri: 0830-1530
  • Sat & Sun: 0830-1530

What is on the menu at the Bistro?

  • Teas, coffees and light snacks.
  • Breakfast Rolls, soup, sandwiches and more. 
  • Bistro Tuk-tuk – Take-away breakfast, lunch, drinks and snacks all available at the Bistro Tuk tuk.
