WHAT’S OPEN AT ORIAM? 

Following the Scottish Government updated restrictions for the Central Belt we have made adjustments to our activities and services starting from the Saturday 10th October 2020. Full details can be found here.

  • Fitness Suite & Personal Training

  • Group Exercise Classes – Online Classes Only

  • Casual Football (max 6 people from 2 households)

  • Oriam Bistro and vending machines (sit-in & take-away)

  • Squash Courts  (own equipment, solo practice or same household)

  • Badminton Courts (own equipment, max 6 people from 2 households)

  • Toilet Access

  • Water fountains

GENERAL

What are your current opening times?

From Saturday 24th October we will be open as follows:

Monday – Friday // 06:30 – 21:00

Saturday – Sunday // 08:00 – 18:00

Will I need to wear a face mask when I visit?

We ask all members who can do so, to please wear a mask in the Reception area, the Bistro and in corridors when moving between activity areas. We have a ‘keep left’ system in all corridors which we ask everyone to follow and sanitizing stations at each entry point and activity area.  

What should I bring with me?

We ask members to only bring the essentials into Oriam.

  • Dress ready for your activity before arrival. Changing rooms are currently closed.
  • A face mask.
  • Oriam Members card. You will need this for access to the fitness suite and car park.
  • A water bottle. Stay hydrated during your activity, water fountains now available for re-fills. 
  • Your own equipment for an activity. Rackets, Yoga mats and resistance bands for example. 

Can I use the changing rooms or showers when I visit?

Our changing rooms and showers are closed at the moment. We encourage members to change at home and arrive ready to workout. Access to lockers will also not be available so please only bring the essentials into the building. We hope to open changing rooms shortly. 

How does the Rule of 6 Affect Oriam?

The rule of 6 people from 2 households primarily applies to hospitality areas and social gatherings.

We ask all members visiting the Bistro to limit their group to a maximum of 6 adults from upto 2 households. 

For all of our casual sport activities we ask members to follow the rule of 6 unless specific guidance is in place for a particular sport.

How do I leave feedback about my visit?

ACTIVITIES

Which activities are currently available?

 All activities must be pre-booked, including Fitness sessions. We will update everyone as anything changes. We will follow the guidance from each governing body on set-up, equipment and numbers. 

Current available activities are:

  • Fitness sessions
  • Group Exercise classes (online only)
  • Casual football (rule of 6) & select team training
  • Squash (own equipment, solo practice or same household)
  • Badminton (own equipment, & rule of 6)

How Do I book an activity?

If you are a current member you are welcome to book an activity online, via our new app or by phone. Our new Oriam App is a convenient way to manage all of your activities on the go. To login to the app or online you will need your email address and password. If you have any difficulties logging-in please try the ‘forgotten password’ link or you can call or email reception for assistance during opening hours.

Please remember to cancel your booking if for any reason you are unable to attend. This may give another member the opportunity to go to an activity and we will be using our booking system as part of our track & trace protocols so attendance will be closely monitored. 

Which Group Exercise classes are available?

All Group Exercise will be moved to online only for the coming weeks. A New timetable and details for how to join these classes will be announced shortly.

What is available in the fitness suite?

Our main fitness suite has been adapted to keep everyone safe and happy during a workout. 

  • full range of equipment available. New layout for social distancing.
  • Pre-booking essential
  • Sessions set to 1 hour bookings. No extensions for late arrivals.
  • Maximum capacity: 35 members per hour. 
  • Allocated time for deep cleaning between bookings.
  • One way system in place.
  • Additional cleaning stations available for member use.

What about group or team sports?

We are working closely with sportscotland to implement group sport at Oriam and will update our guidance as soon as possible. We will be in contact with any groups due to train at Oriam in the coming weeks.

Here is our current guidance on team sports and if you are interested in booking your team in for training sessions please email the bookings team. 

MEMBERSHIP

What if I am not ready to return to Oriam?

We completely understand! Not everyone is going to feel they are ready to return to the facilities. Oriam is still here for you, we will continue to post a variety of health and fitness tips online to try at home and our team are here to answer any questions you might have. You can contact membership@oriam.hw.ac.uk if you have any questions about your current membership. 

I am not a current member how do I join up?

Interested in joining us? We are open to new members now. Check out our memberships page for more information or you can contact our membership team to book an appointment. membership@oriam.hw.ac.uk

We are now open to non-member visitors with pay-as-you-go charges for each activity. Every visitor must register attendance to complete track and trace and make payment before starting the session.

BISTRO

What are the Bistro opening hours?

The Bistro is currently open 

From Monday 28th September the opening hours are:

Weekdays // 08:30 – 15:30

Weekends // 08:30 – 14:00

Do i need to track & trace at the Bistro?

Yes, at the moment we ask all visitors to the Bistro to complete the track & trace form on arrival.

We also ask all visitors to now follow the ‘rule of 6’ and limit their group to a maximum of 6 people from upto 2 households.

What is on the menu at the Bistro?

  • Teas, coffees and light snacks.
  • Breakfast Rolls, soup, sandwiches, paninis and more.
