Here’s the Headlines
STRENGTH TRAINING FOR WOMEN AT ORIAM
Celebrating Internation Women’s Day with a women’s Strength Session
Free Session| Wednesday 8th March| 11:30-12:30
To celebrate International Women’s Day, on Wednesday 8th March we will be hosting an Introduction to Strength Training for women and girls and sharing information for women in sport from our experts. Strength training is far more than just building muscle and can really support women’s health and wellbeing through all stages of life. Katrina, Head of Performance Sport says “Strength training is not only important for muscle strength but also for developing bone strength, joint stability, reduce risk of cardiovascular disease, and help with fat loss. This is particularly important for women from teenage years to 30 years old where the bones are developing their peak strength, then again post menopause where women experience a more rapid decline in bone strength compared to men from mid 40’s onward. In addition to health benefits, strength training can also help improve sport fitness and performance!”
If you have ever been interested in strength training but feel unsure about where to start, this is a great opportunity to give it a try! The session will be held in our Strength & Conditioning Suite and led by Katrina and Vicky, two of our experienced Performance Sports Scientists. Open to all women and girls from age 12 yrs and up.
Limited spaces, book via the link here. Wear comfortable sports clothing and bring a water bottle.
ORIAM INDOOR TENNIS CENTRE
PROJECT UPDATE FOR THE NEW SIX-COURT I.T.C.
Construction for our new Indoor Tennis Centre (ITC) is well underway. Later this month we will take a big step in the construction process which may require us to reduce our opening hours between the 22nd -24th March. We will provide customers with more details very soon. Whilst the work continues outside, our teams are working hard to develop new coaching programs, events, activities and systems so we are all ready for opening later this year!
We now have a time-lapse feed from the construction site so you can check-in on the construction work as it happens and we will post regular updates on our Tennis page as we progress towards opening day! We hope to have some exciting announcements for recruitment and partnerships later this month!
