International Women's Day: Free Introduction to Resistance Training

International Women's Day - Lifting Sessions

To celebrate International Women's Day, on Friday 8th March we will be hosting a free Introduction to Resistance Training for women and girls. Resistance training is far more than just building muscle and can really support women's health and wellbeing through all stages of life. If you have ever been interested in resistance training but feel unsure about where to start, this is a great opportunity to give it a try!

The session will be held in our Strength & Conditioning Suite and led by Vicky, one of our Sports Scientists. Open to all women and girls from age 12 yrs and up. Don't worry if you don't know where to go, simply meet at Oriam reception at 12:10pm and we will lead the way!

We're pleased to be offering women's squash sessions every Wednesday for women of all ages and abilities. These sessions offer a fantastic introduction to the sport in a fun and social environment. Squash is a great way to stay fit and active whilst building your racquet skills and can be played year-round as an indoor sport. Our sessions are led by our Head Squash Coach, and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Donna Lobban who will support you and provide coaching to help you grow your skills and flourish on court.

Our walking netball sessions are perfect for women looking to keep fit and active in a warm, welcoming and social environment. This offers a great way to play netball with women from the local community and share your love of the sport. Whether you've played netball in the past or are looking to get started for the first time, our walking netball sessions are perfect for players of all levels. Our sessions are held in Sports Hall 1 every Friday from 1.30pm - 2.30pm and can be booked via our app under classes and clubs.  

Build Your Tennis Skills at Oriam

Play Tennis at Oriam

Our indoor tennis courts are the newest addition to our world-class facilities here at Oriam and offer a great environment to build your tennis skills and develop a life-long love of the game. We have a range of fantastic classes for players of all ages and abilities, from our extensive minis and junior programme and adult classes, to our relaxed social sessions and high-energy cardio tennis work outs. Tennis is a great social sport and offers a fantastic way to stay fit and active.
