Design is Everything

Oriam re-opened on 31st August and it has been great to see so many of you back in the gym, classes and taking part in sport. Read on for an update on what’s been happening and upcoming news for October. 


Since re-opening we have all adapted to the ‘new normal’ and steadily re-introduced many of your favourite activities at Oriam. We have taken every measure to make sure your visit is safe, clean, friendly & fun. Our First Month in Numbers
  • 280 Gym Sessions

  • 160 exercise classes

  • 240 casual sport sessions

  • Over 60 Oriam Staff

Our Adaptations
  • Frequent & thorough cleaning schedules
  • Track & trace for all areas
  • ‘Keep Left’ system in corridors
  • Sanitiser stations and ‘mask zones’
  • One way system in the gym
  • Adapted staff schedules to minimise cross-over
  • A new booking system and Our Oriam App
  • Guidelines in place for each sport with direction from sport specific National Governing Bodies
5th-10th October 2020

Oriam are offering free Pilates and Yoga classes for our staff and students to help celebrate World Mental Health Week.  We will have an online class for all campuses to access and a face to face class for those that are on the Edinburgh Campus.  If you would like to join any of the classes please email sarah.robertson@hw.ac.uk to ensure you have the class log in and to allow us to track and trace effectively.


In September we welcomed our students back to start a new academic year. Find out more about the student activities and success stories here.


Our Bistro is open to the public with a menu of breakfast, brunch and snack options ready for take-away or sit-in.

Weekends  //  08:30 – 14:00


At Oriam we have a wide range of resources for our community. We now have a ‘how to’ series with quick clips to get you started in the fitness suite and a variety of fun workouts on our youtube channel. 

Remember we also have our My Wellness App where you can find new workouts, create your own and track your fitness progress in and out of the gym.
