The City of Edinburgh Council will be carrying out resurfacing works from Monday 29 July to Thursday 1 August, which will affect the main entrance into the University and Oriam

These works will close The Avenue for four days and all traffic during this time will have to access the campus via Research Avenue North.

Buses to and from the campus will not be affected by the works as Lothian Buses will utilise the route via Research Avenue North to access the campus.

We apologise for any disruption this may cause.

For further information on the planned roadworks please email Karl Ivanov, Senior Transport Team Leader at the City of Edinburgh Council.

Estates and SafeGuarding Services have advised that they will, on this one occasion, ensure that the barrier at West Gait will be lifted to facilitate egress.

Extreme caution should be exercised to all drivers and that, drivers exiting out onto Curriehill Road from the west gait do so at their own risk.

The team said: “We cannot stress enough the dangerous nature of exiting out onto Curriehill Road. Drivers must be aware that by doing so you may negate your own insurance should an accident occur.

Estates and SafeGuarding can take no responsibility for the driver’s own actions at this time.”
