The Heriot-Watt Women’s Squash Team is set to compete at the European Club Championships in Nuremberg, Germany, from 23-26 September, representing both the university and Scottish squash on the international stage

The team will be made up of Robyn McAlpine, a current Heriot-Watt University squash scholar, Chen Yu Ng, a HWU alumni squash scholar, and Bettina Buchanan, who played an integral part of helping the team qualify for this competition. The squad will be led by HWU Head Squash Coach Donna Lobban as they take on some of Europe’s strongest club teams.

The championships provide an exciting opportunity for the players to test themselves against high-quality international opposition and gain valuable experience competing at one of the sport’s premier club events.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our players to compete against some of Europe’s top clubs and experience the high standards of international team competition. The players have worked hard to earn this opportunity, and we’re excited to represent Heriot-Watt and Scottish squash in Nuremberg.”

The team heads to Germany with a strong mix of current and former scholars, with Robyn McAlpine and Chen Yu Ng currently ranked 147 and 283 in the world, respectively.
