Our injury rehabilitation service offers support for injury recovery and return to work or play.
What is Injury Rehabilitation Support?
Rehabilitation support comes in one of four forms:
The 1:1 consultation such as physiotherapy session (in-clinic session or 1:1 gym based rehab/strength session) or 1:1 hydrotherapy session involves person to person support in all aspect of your recovery from injury or surgery.
The group session within our weekly gym based strength and conditioning sessions involves our physiotherapists providing you with an individual programme and we will progress you through this phase of rehab as safely and efficiently as possible.
The last form is on-field rehabilitation support which is led by one of our sports physiotherapists. This allows us to expose your tissue to the stresses and strains of your specific sport in a graded way to allow adaptation. This allows you to gain confidence in a controlled setting. Volume, intensity and variety are increased each week. You are usually working within a small group of people at a similar stage of rehab as yourself.
Return to play testing is a physical assessment protocol including gym based tests, agility tests, isokinetic testing ( when appropriate) and on field fitness assessments. These are designed to assess your safety to return to your chosen sport in order to reduce the risk of re-injury.

Following this, appropriate treatment and management strategies will be discussed and you will begin your journey to recovery by starting an agreed exercise/loading/management programme.
