This week, we’re joining the nationwide celebration of Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week 2025. The theme this year is “Celebrating Being Active” – recognising the many ways women and girls across Scotland enjoy movement, fitness, and sport, at every stage of life.

At Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre, being active is at the heart of everything we do. From grassroots sessions to elite performance programmes, we’re proud to create an environment where women and girls can thrive, discover new passions, and make sport part of their everyday lives.

Celebrating Our Community

To mark the week, we’re shining a spotlight on the inspiring women and girls who bring our facilities to life.

Celebrating Our Partners

Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week is a collective celebration, and we’re proud to stand alongside our partners who are also marking the week. From governing bodies and universities to local clubs and national organisations, their campaigns, events, and stories all contribute to making sport more visible, inclusive, and accessible.

We’ll be sharing and celebrating partner content across our channels throughout the week – highlighting the brilliant work happening across Scotland to inspire women and girls to be active in every way.

This Women and Girls in Sport Week, Heriot-Watt University Sports Union is proud to celebrate the incredible women across our community who inspire, lead, and excel in sport — from grassroots to elite level.

Whether you're competing, coaching, volunteering, or simply getting active for fun, fitness, or friendship, there’s a place for you in our vibrant sporting community. 🏅

We’re also encouraging more girls and young women to get involved — because sport is for everyone. Together, let’s break down barriers, champion participation, and build a more inclusive future in sport. 💜

Why We Celebrate

“Celebrating Being Active” is about more than competition – it’s about movement, community, and joy. Whether it’s through team sport, walking, gym sessions, or just trying something new, being active has the power to boost confidence, wellbeing, and connections with others.

At Oriam, we’re proud to play our part in making those opportunities possible.
