Oriam was proud to welcome over 80 athletes and support staff from ParalympicsGB for a two-day residential camp, as preparations ramp up ahead of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.

With just under 230 days to go until the opening ceremony, the camp brought together athletes, coaches, and key support teams from across the UK for a rare and invaluable opportunity to gather together. Taking place across Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre’s world-class facilities, the camp included team-building activities, official photoshoots, and tailored media training sessions—designed to help athletes build confidence and prepare for the unique pressures of competing on the global stage.
This is the first time the Winter Paralympics will be hosted across two cities—Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo—with around 600 Para-athletes from around the world expected to compete across six sports: Para alpine skiing, Para biathlon, Para cross-country skiing, Para ice hockey, Para snowboard, and wheelchair curling.

Among the attendees hoping to secure their place on the ParalympicsGB team next year were several rising stars as well as experienced Paralympic medallists, including Neil Simpson, who became the first British male athlete to win gold on snow with a phenomenal victory in the men’s Super-G vision impaired event alongside brother and guide Andrew at Beijng 2022. Also at Oriam was wheelchair curling skip Hugh Nibloe, who competed at PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022, who will be hoping to be part of the British squad for Milano-Cortina after an impressive season which included a silver medal in the mixed doubles event at the World Wheelchair Curling Championships earlier this year.
Oriam Executive Director, Ross Campbell, shared his thoughts on the visit:
“It’s been a privilege to support ParalympicsGB as they prepare for Milano Cortina. We are proud to provide a high-performance environment where elite athletes can train, learn, and connect as a team. The atmosphere over the past two days has been inspiring, and we look forward to following their journey to Italy and beyond.”

The visit highlights Oriam’s growing reputation as a destination for elite sport, continuing its mission to support athletes at every stage of their journey—from grassroots to global competition.
We extend our warmest wishes to all athletes and staff heading to Milano Cortina in March 2026, and we hope to welcome ParalympicsGB back to Oriam in the near future.
