Discover Cricket

Originating in England during the late 16th century, Cricket has grown into one of the most popular sports in the United Kingdom and is played worldwide.

The sport is played on an oval shaped field, called a cricket ground, with a rectangular strip in the middle called the pitch. A match has two teams, each consisting of eleven players, with the objective being to score more runs than the opposing team.

One team bats, while the other fields. The batting team has two players on the field at a time, who run back and forth between the wickets after hitting the ball aiming to score runs. The fielding team aims to prevent scoring by catching the ball or hitting the wickets, to get the batters out.

Cricket encompasses a blend of skill, strategy and teamwork. Get started with the sport at Oriam, with the new Kwik Cricket Pay As You Play option - a fun and fast-paced way to enjoy the game.
