I’ve been active in the gym since my time at university. Keeping a consistent and progressive routine has not only improved my athletic performance but helped boost my mood, deal with the many stresses of university and more recently - working life.
Keeping this schedule has allowed me to make improvements in my strength, agility, and endurance, and these advancements have directly translated into world class footballing performances that Lionel Messi would be proud of.
The mental health benefits have been crucial too. Maintaining this routine has continued to decrease my stress and boost my motivation.
Everyone has their own goal, let us know if we can help with yours!

I love exercise to help keep the monkey off my back.
There are so many reasons to exercise, the most viable to me personally is to keep yourself in check mentally.
Pushing yourself through mental and physical barriers maintains a level of discipline that is essential in everyday life.
Some days, you can give yourself plenty of excuses and even plausible reasons to skip the gym and just go home. However, those days can be the most important to push yourself and train all the same.
Doesn’t have to be too intense, just get in and get it done. The more you can push yourself, the more you can achieve.
This discipline can be said for studying, chores or anything you could put off in your life.

BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise

L2 Fitness Instructor
Embarking on my Fitness journey in my late teens, I initially hit the gym solely for aesthetic goals (we’ve all been there). However, over the years, my passion for exercise deepened, leading me to pursue further education in the field.
Studying at College and Universtiy exposed me to a healthier goal-setting, and more effective approach to achieving fitness objectives.
Today, in my early 30s, having shed 15kg, I find myself the healthiest, fittest, and strongest version of myself. I’ve transitioned from a personal focus to sharing my knowledge, teaching others, and training with top athletes in grappling/jiu-jitsu, where I regularly compete.
The turning point? Being more compassionate with myself by not demanding too much and setting realistic SMART goals alongside cultivating healthier ideals. Not every workout needs to resemble a Rocky montage in order for you to achieve progress. Consistent efforts in training, listening to your body, staying hydrated, and making mindful food choices propel you much closer to your goals. It’s about sustainability and smart choices. As they say; the people that enjoy walking will walk further than those who love the destination.
In my fitness journey, I find joy in taking classes, doing inductions, chatting with members, creating programmes, and writing fitness articles. Now, as I continue evolving in the fitness realm, I bring this holistic perspective to my coaching and training, aiming for lasting results.

Everyone has a story. Mine started with little enthusiasm for exercise.
My wakeup call came whilst looking at myself in the mirror of a changing room during a shopping trip and facing a body I didn’t recognise or like. Rather than aiming for the health benefits that exercise and a healthy diet could bring, my goals were aesthetic, resulting in my being underweight, lethargic and unhappy.
It wasn’t until I decided to do sessions with a Personal Trainer that things changed for the better.
My Personal Trainer not only helped me to change physically, but mentally also. What I once dreaded was now exciting. I started doing things I never thought were possible and pushing my body to limits I never thought I’d reach.
This set me on a path to achieve my own Personal Training qualification so that I could offer the support and knowledge to people who are in the same position I once was.
I have a background in Olympic Weightlifting, having competed for 4 years, and became extremely passionate about helping others realise their potential.
Training is not always easy, but it is always worth it.
Remember, consistency beats motivation and answering to someone always helps.

Healthy lifestyle and habit forming
My love of health and fitness started with my own health issues in my 20s following a party lifestyle that finally took it’s toll. I saw a nutritional therapist and took up ashtanga yoga and salsa dancing (because ‘typical exercise’ didn’t interest me at all!). Feeling like a new woman I decided to retrain as a nutritional therapist so I could help others and practiced this for 8 years until I had children. I also became a Zumba instructor in 2010.
Since then I feel like I’ve gone through another huge transition. This time, becoming a ‘geriatric’ mother who has been through IVF and straight into peri menopause. Exercise and a healthy diet have now become absolute essentials for me. I am determined to keep myself well for myself and my kids and to thrive, not just survive, and have a particular interest in women’s health from pregnancy and in later years.
As a PT I want to help people work out how they can fit exercise into their schedules, show them it can be enjoyable and help them set and achieve their goals. I also look at all factors that effect health – stress, sleep, mindset and diet. I aim to provide knowledge, support, accountability and a personalised program for every client.
