Oriam was proud to host the Scottish FA’s Bio-Banding Festival, an innovative event designed to transform youth football development. Led and delivered by the Scottish FA, this approach groups players by biological maturity, measured as a percentage of adult height, rather than traditional chronological age categories.

By creating fairer and more balanced competition, bio-banding:

• Gives later-maturing players the chance to shine.
• Challenges early maturers to develop technical and tactical skills.
• Provides coaches and scouts with a holistic view of player potential.

This initiative is part of the Scottish FA’s commitment to nurturing talent and ensuring every young player has the opportunity to succeed. With support from national team star Scott McTominay, the festival highlights how patience and tailored development can unlock future potential.
