Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre, is set to host some of the best university squash in the UK as the BUCS Premier (National) Stage 2 competition comes to Edinburgh on 31 January and 1 February. Across two full days of high‑intensity action, the nation’s top men’s and women’s teams will compete for national ranking positions and pathways into the latter stages of BUCS competition.
With fixtures taking place across six courts, Oriam will once again become a hub for performance squash. Court 1 will be streamed live throughout the weekend, giving supporters across the country the chance to follow their teams from anywhere.
This stage of the competition brings together an outstanding field from leading universities including:
Heriot-Watt University, Loughborough University, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), University of Nottingham, University of Birmingham, Newcastle University, University of Manchester, University of Edinburgh, Durham University, University of Bath, and the University of Warwick.
A Showcase of Talent and Team Performance
BUCS Premier (National) Stage 2 is one of the most demanding weekends in the UK university squash calendar. Teams face multiple fixtures in quick succession, testing not only their technical precision and physical conditioning but their ability to perform under pressure.
For Heriot-Watt University, the tournament also offers an opportunity to perform on home courts in front of friends, family, and the Oriam community.
The mix of emerging young talent, established student athletes, and experienced coaching staff across the competing universities ensures that spectators—both onsite and online—will witness squash of the highest calibre.
