Heriot-Watt University are celebrating the values and inspiring work of our staff and students this month, rounding off the University’s bicentennial year! Oriam will be hosting a variety of events throughout the week for our staff, students and wider community.

|COMMUNITY FUN DAY

Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre | 13:00 – 16:00

This event is open to the whole Heriot-Watt Community, including family, friends, alumni and local Edinburgh residents. Come join us at Oriam for an afternoon of family-friendly sports activities and challenges, face-painting, kids crafts and more.
Bring the whole family to try out new sports and explore Oriam services and facilities.

|HERIOT WATT STAFF & STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Open to all Heriot-Watt Staff and Students. Please book ahead before attending any of our activities. Details can be found on the Celebration Week Sharepoint site.

TUESDAY 14th JUNE

Heriot-Watt Online Wellbeing Class | 09:00 – 09:45

The class will last approximately 45 minutes and will comprise of Body-weight exercises within your limits, talked through by our wonderful Sarah.

All you need is some space, a towel or similar if you have a hard floor, some water and a device that you can view the class on. Prior to the class we will email you across a Zoom link to be able to access the class. Available for all Heriot-Watt campuses.

WEDNESDAY 15th JUNE

Cycle to Work Breakfast | 08:00 – 09:30

Come and join us in the marquee at Oriam from 8am for a spot of breakfast and a cycling workshop, with information on the Cycle-to-Work scheme, bike security, safe cycle routes and services available from the Oriam Bike Bothy.

Participants are encouraged to cycle in to the event but feel free to pop along regardless and find out more!

Health Check-In| 10:00 – 11:30

Drop-in at our Oriam Marquee for a health check-in. There will be NHS staff in attendance to take blood pressure, discuss weight management as well as several health related NHS published information leaflets.

Oriam and HWU wellbeing staff will be in attendance with advice and support for employee wellbeing at work.

Sport and Exercise Festival| 13:00 – 16:00

Enjoy an afternoon of fun sports and fitness activities at Oriam. Try new sports or have a friendly competition with your colleagues or course-mates. Rounders, Racquet Sports, Cycle classes and fun fitness challenge all led by our own Oriam Fitness team.

THURSDAY 16th JUNE

Outdoor Yoga Class| 12:00 – 12:45

Join our Yoga Instructor Moira, for a relaxing outdoor yoga class outside the GRID building on Edinburgh Campus. We recommend bringing your own mat however some will be available to borrow on the day.
