What is included in our scholarships?
At Heriot-Watt and at Oriam the pivotal aspect of all our scholarships is academic flexibility. We aim to support our Athletes to train and compete at their optimum whilst they continue to thrive academically.
Throughout the scholarship programme, student-athletes will be supported on a weekly basis with:
- Lunchtime Learning Educational Workshops
- Sport Science Support:
- 2x Weekly S&C Sessions – Including Physiotherapy support embedded within 1x S&C Session
- Weekly recovery sessions making use of Oriam’s Hot and Cold Spas, Sauna, and Hydropool.
- Access to Additional Physiotherapy – Individual appointments based on individual needs

Football
Women’s Football

Any Applicant:
- Signed to play for SWPL 1/2 Club
Football
Men’s Football
-
Scotland/RUK Applicant:
- Academy Graduate
USA Applicant:
- NCAA Graduate
Squash
Undergraduate Applicant:
- Member of Performance Squad
- Open application with references & Video evidence of current level
Post Graduate Applicant
- Women’s – WR <250
- Men’s – WR < 400
Individual Sport Scholarship – Level 1
Level 1 Individual Sport Scholars will receive a 25% Tuition Fee Reduction
- Compete at an international level for their country
- Olympics
- Commonwealth games
- World Championships
- Professional Athlete (have a professional contract with a sports organisation)
Individual Sport Scholarship – Level 2
- Institute Supported Athlete
- Competing at a youth international level
- Athlete on a Performance Pathway Programme
