What is Walking Tennis?

What is Walking Tennis

Walking Tennis is a safe fun and inclusive way to stay active and have fun. It offers a great introduction to tennis for all ages and abilities, allowing you to build your skills and experience with a gentler pace of play.

Whether you've been playing tennis for many years, or are looking to pick up a racquet for the first time, this is perfect for getting into the swing of things in a supportive social setting. The sport is very accessible and offers an easy way for older people to keep their body and mind active whilst enjoying the social side of being part of a community of avid tennis fans.

Who Can Play?

Walking Tennis is open and accessible to all ages and abilities. It offers a great way to learn and develop tennis skills at your own pace. It is ideal for those who:

  • Are just starting out or playing for the first time.
  • Are returning from an injury.
  • Just need a bit more time getting to the ball.

How Do I Play?

Walking Tennis is still tennis, but with a few tweaks designed to make the game easier and more accessible for all. Some of the key changes are:

  • You can let the ball bounce twice for extra time.
  • It can be played on a smaller court with modified equipment.
  • Players can't run or jump to get the ball.
